Jarmo Tolvanen was introduced

The Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation introduced Jarmo Tolvanen, who was hired in the middle of August, to the press. Tolvanen will be the head coach of the senior and junior national teams.

Gergely Egri, the sports director talked about the selection process, the federation was looking for a coach who had a previous connection with Hungarian hockey and that they would not be completely unfamiliar only months before the World Championships, that will be held in Budapest. Also having an extensive coaching experience in multiple countries as well as having coached a national team was also taken into consideration.

Zoltán Kovács technical vice president informed everyone in attendance of the up coming event in the next year as well as what challenges the new head coach will face.

Jarmo Tolvanen has signed a one year contract and will be the full time head coach of both the senior and junior national teams. He has already coached the U20 team at the Super Challenge Cup in Karlstad Sweden.

Tolvanen mention that it is an honor for him to become the Hungarian national team head coach. He mentioned that the U20 tournament in Sweden was a good first experience and that there is a number of talent junior Hungarian players. In the following month Tolvanen will be doing some extensive scouting as he tries to get a better understanding of what players does he have available for both the senior and junior teams.
