In the second game of the Roland Divatház 4 Nations Tournament the Hungarian national team took on Italy. An even balanced game turned into a Hungarian win in the end.
Head coach Jarmo Tolvanen and his coaching staff made some changes to the lineup from Friday night. Bence Bálizs who did not dress against Poland will be starting in net with Miklós Rajna serving as the backup, also getting into the lineup is János Hári, Bronson Kovács and István Terbócs. Not playing against Italy will be Dávid Duschek, Tamás Pozsgai, Attila Pavuk and János Vas.
The game started out much like the night before against Poland as Hunagry was playing a fast paced up tempo game. However Italy struck first when Marcetti skated down the right wing and fired shot from the right faceoff circle past Bálizs to make it 1-0 for Italy. At the midway point of the period Hungary tied the game up with a power play goal, István Bartalis sent the puck down low to Balázs Sebők who made a cross slot touch pass to Bálint Magosi who banged the one timer home for the goal. Less than a minute later Tamás Sárpátki took a pass from Csanád Erdély and he set up Andrew Sarauer for the shot from the goal line to give Hungary their first lead of the game.
In the first minute of the second period Frigo threw a shot on net from the corner that went in behind Bálizs to tie the game up at 2-2. Italy was called for a kneeing penalty but Hungary was not able to take advantage of the power play. Throughout the period Hungary was able to put shots on net. Csanád Erdély took a long pass and tried to go high on the Italian goalie, but the netminder was in his place.
In the third period both teams were creating going up and down the ice as the game had a nice natural flow to it. At about the midway point of the period Csanád Erdély had an excellent chance as did Zsombor Garát, on the next shift István Terbócs had a shot from the slot. Later the period Balázs Sebők from behind the net fed Bálint Magosi in the slot who sent a one timer past the goalie to make it 3-2. Kevin Wehrs ripped a shot from the blue line to make it 4-2 for Hungary. In the closing minutes Csanád Erdély tacked on an empty net goal as Hungary won 5-2.
