Two years ago Poland just missed out on being promoted to the A-Pool after a loss to Hungary. Last year Poland again had a chance of being promoted to being as they headed into the final game.
Rich Chernomaz and the coaching staff decided to stay with Bence Bálizs in net with Miklós Rajna was the backup. János Vas is still out of the lineup with his rib injury. István Bartalis is between Csanád Erdély and Vilmos Galló with Krisztián Nagy centering András Benk and István Terbócs. János Hári is centering Bálint Magosi and Karol Csányi. Balázs Gőz picked up an injury blocking a shot against Korea and will be out of the lineup, the third defensive pairing will be Zsombor Garát with Arnold Varga.

Tamás Sille: Poland is a physically strong team they are skilled as well, they play within the system. Their weak point might be in net, the goaltender performance has not been the best during the tournament. We will need to create more chances and to convert them as well, we need to put a lot of shots on net. Our powerplay will also need to work as well.
